Been gone for a while. Busy and stressful home life with my youngest graduating from high school and a move to Traverse City. But I have been getting back into figuring out my board game. Been doing a lot of gaming now that I live in Traverse where all my gaming friends are at. I've played some really cool board games and have learned a lot from just playing them that I would love to do. I've also been listening to the guys and what they have liked or disliked about the games we were playing. So I've gotten me some ideas and been busy writing out my ideas.
I am still doing the online, own time, course. When I find my printouts. I've moved twice this year and I'm not sure where things are any more. It's very interesting so far and have learned a lot about the history and what games are all about. I can't wait to get into the actual creation. Although, I'm doing pretty good so far for not knowing what in the hell I am doing.
So over the next couple of days I will be posting some of my ideas I have that I've gotten from friends, the internet, and just what I find fun in a game. Feel free to add ideas if you have any to add. I will be doing the posts in sections, i.e. monsters, PC's, runes, etc. so if you have an idea, please keep it in the right post or I will get really confussed.
Things look like a mess right now, but that's how I've heard it will be for many many playtests and idea brainstorms.
Well I am about to embark on an exciting and, I must admit to myself, over ambitious attempt at a board game. Not just any simple roll dice and go around the board until the "end", but the much more complex type of board game enjoyed by gamers. I will be using several different platforms, many different rule systems, inventing a few rules that others will say "we don't do that", characters that some will like and some won't, and basically screw things up now and then. But I look forward to the enjoyment of creating something. It isn't even a necessity that anyone even play it. I'm doing this strictly for the joy of creation and to push myself to see if I can do this. I expect this endeavor to last me at least a year with all the research, oops, shit, fucks, test playing, embarrassment, and guts it will take to complete.
